This was the best applesauce cake I have made. I used homemade apple sauce so I think that also made a difference. Definitely will be making this again and again.

No one would guess I substituted with GF flour and lactose free frosting and it was lovely and moist. Will definitely be cooking this again.

Absolutely perfect spice cake! I’ve tried many but this is the best – simple ingredients, quick and easy. My only change was to use a Cinnamon Vanilla Frosting as we are not fond of cream cheese Frosting. Definitely a keeper recipe! Thanks so much!

Hi Judy. That is such a good point. My most recent recipes have included storage and shelf life. I apologize that I have not updated this recipe with that information yet.
If stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container, this cake will last for 3-4 days. Freezing with the cream cheese icing is tricky. It is best to freeze it whole. Wrap the whole cake tightly in plastic wrap and then aluminum foil to prevent freezer burn. Freeze for up to 1-2 months. Thaw the cake in the refrigerator, and it might need a touch-up with fresh frosting after thawing.

This is the best apple cake I’ve ever tasted! The applesauce makes it so moist and gives it such a great texture. You can really taste the apple flavor.
