Hi Alexis! That’s wonderful to hear! Homemade chorizo really does make such a difference, and I’m so glad you loved the soup with it. Thank you so much for giving the recipe a try and taking the time to come back, comment and rate it!

This makes me so happy to hear! I think one of my missions in life is to make beans as tasty as possible.
Thank you so much for taking the time to make the recipe and I very much appreciate the comment and the rating.

Oh my goodness, this is good! I made it today and am enjoying a bowl for lunch as I type this. I followed the recipe exactly--used the store-bought tube of chorizo and it works fine, but I might try making my own next time. This soup is so flavorful and warming ... great with crumbled cotija and cilantro. Thanks for a delicious recipe!

Diced cured chorizo sounds so delicious. What a great idea!
Thank you so much Mary for giving the recipe a try and sharing your experience. You are 100% validated. 🙂

Thank you so much for posting this!!!! It is indeed a winner! I have been making a version of this soup for years! I love Chorizo and years ago tried to replicate a soup from my childhood in Portugal. My recall was not accurate ( I had the soup when I was like 7 years old) so I did not use kale. But the result was amazing and I have been making it every since. When I found this recipe, I was delighted! It made me feel like I was not so far out in left field. Kind of like the first time I saw Martha Stewart make pasta dough in a food processor, which I had been doing for years out of laziness. Validation! My recipe did not call for coriander but I will add it when I make this soup today. I also add diced cured hard chorizo for the added "chew", and serve it with a nice crusty bread.
