In reply to Doris. Hi Doris! I apologize that my response wasn't in time for you to make the cornbread. The skillet doesn't need to be preheated, but if you do, it can create beautiful crispy edges. I would just recommend keeping a close eye on the bread around the 15-20 minute mark so it doesn't over bake. I hope this helps. Thank you so much for giving the recipe a try.
