In reply to Sarah. Hi Sarah. Yes, you can make the cake the night before and it would be best to not ice until the next day. I would recommend to cover it with plastic wrap once it has completely cooled.

In reply to Haley. Hi Haley. Unfortunately I have not made a dairy free version. I think that you could easily substitute dairy free butter or coconut oil for the butter and flax milk with an addittion of 1 tsp of lemon juice (how you make homemade buttermilk) for the buttermilk. Also, using 6 egg whites in place of the while eggs could work. I will definitely let you know when I give it a try.
