Ingredients

  • 4 oz vodka
  • 2 oz Kahlua *or a coffee liqueur
  • 4 oz half and half
  • 2 oz Gingerbread syrup *see direcly below

Gingerbread Syrup

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup unsulfered molasses
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves

Rimming the Martini Glasses

  • 1/4 cup honey *or unsulfered molasses
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar *either light or dark

Instructions

Gingerbread Syrup

  • In a small saucepan combine all the ingredients for Gingerbread Syrup. Place over medium heat and bring to a simmer, consistently stirring until sugar dissolves. Let cool and then place into a glass container with a tight fitting lid. Refrigerate until chilled, about 4 hours.

Martinis

  • Place honey and brown sugar onto two sperate plate or wide bottomed bowls. Dip the rims of the 2 martini glasses into honey and then brown sugar.
  • In a martini shaker or a glass measuring cup combine vodka, Kahlua, half and half and Gingerbread syrup. Mix well. Pour into rimmed martini glasses and enjoy immediately.

Notes

*Please use as many organic ingredients as possible.
Recipe Notes
  • If using a martini shaker, add a few ice cubes to help create extra icy cold martinis. Additionally, keeping the vodka and Kahlua in the freezer will help to make the martinis extra frosty.
  • The Gingerbread syrup recipe above will yield approximately 1 cup, enough for 4 batches of Gingerbread Martinis or 8 martinis in whole.
  • Either molasses or honey may be used in rimming the martini glass. However, honey does tend to be more beautiful in presentation.
