Ingredients

  • 3 lbs Yukon gold potatoes
  • 3 tbsp sea salt
  • 3 tbsp High heat oil like avocado oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • salt & pepper to taste *optional

Instructions

  • Wash potatoes and then slice into desired size (see Most Popular French Fry Cuts above).
Place sliced potatoes into cold water as soon as cutting is done.
Once all potatoes are cut, drain water and refill with more cold water. Add salt to water. Stir well and let sit for 30 mins.
  • Meanwhile, line 2 large cookie sheets with aluminum foil and preheat oven to 425℉.
  • Once 30 mins is done, drain potato slices and place on paper towels. Pat dry.
Place potatoes slices into a large bowl. Drizzle with oil, sprinkle with garlic powder and toss well.
Divide among the 2 cookie sheets in a single layer making sure to not over crowd slices.
For Steak cut fries bake for approximately 25-30 mins. For standard cut fries bake approximately 20-25 minutes and for shoestring fries bake approximately 15-20 mins. If using a different type of potato baking times may go up to 50 mins.
For all fries, make sure to turn, using a spatula halfway through baking.
  • Once fries are baked to desired crispness, remove from oven and lightly sprinkle with salt and pepper if desired.
