Ultra Creamy Nacho Cheese

Creamy and flavorful, this recipe creates the Best Homemade Nacho Cheese. Pour over your favortie chips for the ultimate treat with nachos or as an appetizer.

  • 1 1/2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 1/16 tsp chipotle powder *optional (about a pinch)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 1/2 cup half & half
  • 1 cup shredded pepper Jack cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Colby Jack Cheese


  • Into a small bowl add flour, salt, pepper and spices. Mix well.
  • Grate and measure cheese and measure flour. Set aside.
  • Place a medium sized sauce pan over medium heat and add butter. Once melted add in flour mixture. Whisking consistently, cook flour and butter mixture until bubbling around edges, about 3-4 mins. 
  • Slowly whisk in half and half. Cook until simmering for approximately 2 mins.
  • Add in half of the cheese and stir well. Once melted add in remaining cheese.
  • Stir well and cook until cheese is fully melted, about 2 mins.
